Student Summer Research Program

About the Program

The Department of Political Science Student Summer Research Program offers an opportunity for students to participate in an intellectual community committed to inquiry, investigation, and creativity. The integrative summer research program engages teacher-scholars with student-scholars.

Theme Projects

  • Rising sophomores or juniors formulate and complete mentored research projects guided by a faculty team during the summer.

Together, the program participants (students and faculty) form a research community for inquiry supported by both faculty mentoring and peer mentoring. Participants are selected through a competitive process involving an application and review by a department faculty committee. Students selected receive a $1500 stipend for the summer, paid in three installments based on project progress and completion.
