Student Clubs

TCU Chinese Club

The TCU Chinese Club promotes Chinese language and cultural awareness in a fun and active way within the TCU community. We strive to create a comfortable environment for fellowship among all TCU students, and we cultivate a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture. Our goal is to create a visible Chinese community within the student population of TCU. We have a lot of events planned, so come join us and have fun. Check out our Facebook group for info.

Ensemble en Français

Current TCU students who are enrolled in a French course, French minors or majors in the modern language studies with a concentration in French are encouraged to join our organization for learners and speakers of French. Ensemble en Français promotes the language and the culture of France and the Francophone world through a series of activities and programs in and around our community. We also explore the many facets of French-speaking communities in North America and the world.

TCU German Club

TCU’s German Club organizes events for students interested in learning German or about German, Austrian and Swiss culture. We host special events including German film and discussion nights, outings to local German restaurants and cultural events, campus holiday events such as Oktoberfest and a Christmas Market, and community service activities. Check out the TCU German Facebook page for event updates.

TCU Italian Club

The TCU Italian Club promotes Italian language, culture and traditions. This organization holds Italian film and pizza nights, informal conversation hours and cultural events, such as the Dallas Opera and tours of the Kimbell Art Museum.

Honor Societies

Delta Phi Alpha: National German Honor Society

Requirements for membership in Delta Phi Alpha reflect high academic standards that are perfectly in tune with our university’s commitment to excellence. Students must be (or have been) registered in an advanced German course (beyond Intermediate German), have a B+ minimum average in all German courses taken, have a minimum of B- in all courses of study at the university level, and indicate continued interest in the study of German language and literature. Check out the TCU German Facebook page for updates on events.>

Pi Delta Phi: National French Honor Society

Pi Delta Phi is the national French honor society for undergraduate and graduate students at accredited public and private universities. It is the highest academic honor in the field of French and the oldest academic honor society for a modern foreign language in the United States. The purpose of the society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literature, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage French and francophone cultural activities.

Phi Sigma Iota: International Foreign Language Honor Society

The society recognizes students who excel in language learning. Phi Sigma Iota is open to undergraduate students pursuing a curriculum with a major or minor in a foreign language with a minimum GPA of 3.3. Events, such as foreign film nights, are open to all TCU students. An initiation ceremony is held every spring.
