Internships
At TCU, you'll grow personally and professionally.

You’ll learn by doing, stepping outside the classroom to turn your ideas into action. Internships are invaluable for helping you figure out which career path interests you most.
Opportunities for Spanish and Hispanic Majors
As a Spanish and Hispanic studies major, you may earn one to three credit hours for your internship experience. But first, you must take at least two upper-level Spanish courses (30000-level or higher)
Overview
Internships for credit are carefully monitored work or service experiences with specific learning goals. Each internship gives students the opportunity to apply their Spanish language skills in a real-world setting. Students are responsible for identifying and coordinating internship logistics. An on-site supervisor and a faculty adviser supervise each internship. Credits earned may count toward any major or minor in the Department of Spanish & Hispanic Studies.
Requirements
Internships require a minimum of 30 hours per semester to receive one hour of credit, 60 hours to receive two hours of credit, and 90 hours to receive three hours of credit.
Students are expected to complete additional work that may include, but is not limited to:
- time-bound journal responses based upon directed learning
- evaluations that are completed by the site supervisor and/or site visits by the faculty advisor
- an oral report
- a resume written in Spanish
- a reflective essay that provides more thoroughly the student’s overall experience.

TCU's Policy on Internships
TCU offers hundreds of internships in any given semester and does not support political or personal statements associated with any of them. We evaluate each opportunity to ensure academic value as it relates to a course of study. Beyond that, we encourage you to seek opportunities that best match your interests and choose how to fulfill your internship requirements.
